We have four race tracks available to us here at the Bondurant School. We have our own purpose-built road course, and access to 3 of Firebird Raceway's tracks. This provides us with the space to accomodate all types of training from highway survival training to advanced road racing and executive protection.

Bondurant Road Course

Bondurant road course

A very challenging track that has several configurations to choose from. A combination of high-speed turns over blind hills provides plenty of excitement. Bob designed this course to require all of the car control skills students learn to be applied.

Firebird East Track

One of the tracks used by Bondurant features a combination of high-speed corners, long straights and tight low speed turns. Balancing the vehicle well with trail braking, proper downshifting, and smooth throttle inputs are the keys to a quick lap time. It is the preferred test track used by various professional racing teams and our Advanced Road Racing classes.

Firebird West Track

A technically demanding track that requires good car control skills. To get around quickly, trail braking and proper race lines will be emphasized. This track is primarily used for Advanced Road Racing and the Executive Protection Courses.

Firebird Main Course

A track used for professional road racing, this track combines a drag strip with a demanding road course. At just over a mile in length, this track is primarily used for Corporate Groups.

FROM PIR 4.10.08 JIMMIE JOHNSON ON BONDURANT:"I've had a great time over the years at the school, everything from working on my road course stuff before we got to Sonoma to taking friends out there. I've taken our crew through the shifter cart school and we came out a day early to do that. It's just a great facility with knowledgeable people and it's really a lot of fun. We've had a surprise appearance from Bob (Bondurant) from time to time and that helps things out there as well. It's a great school. I'm really a big fan of everything they do out there."

VISIT WITH CASEY MEARS IN PHOENIX: "I went to Bondurant last year to reiterate the fundamentals of what you're trying to do on a road course and to knock some of the rust off.... I actually went to Bondurant years ago, when I was about fifteen I went there with my cousin. I have been around there quite a bit" said Mears about his experience at the Bob Bondurant School.

Bondurant training delivers. Jimmie Johnson’s NASCAR Nextel Cup Championship marks the 24th time since 1980 that a Bondurant trained driver has won the NASCAR Cup Championship. In 2007, eight of the top twelve drivers in the “Chase” are Bondurant trained. We applaud Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Clint Bowyer, Kyle Busch, Tony Stewart, Kevin Harvick, Martin Truex Jr. and Denny Hamlin on a great season.
